How much is a private hip consultation?
A private hip consultation with Professor Paul Lee is £250. This covers a 30-minute appointment, a focused hip examination, a review of any imaging you bring, and a written plan with your next steps.
Do I need a GP referral?
No. You can self-refer directly. If you have a recent GP letter or imaging report it is useful to bring, but it is not required to book.
Where does the consultation take place?
In person at The Keep Clinic in Grantham, MSK House in Sleaford (Silk Willoughby, NG34 8NY), or by secure video consultation. You can pick the format that works for you when you book.
How long is the appointment?
30 minutes with Professor Lee. That is long enough to take a proper history, examine your hip, review imaging and explain your options in plain English.
What should I bring to the consultation?
Any recent hip X-rays, MRI or CT imaging (on disc, USB, a patient portal link or as PDF/JPEG attachments), recent GP letters, a list of medications, and a note of how your symptoms affect daily life. If you do not have imaging yet, we can arrange an Open MRI at MSK House.
Will I be pressured to book surgery?
No. Professor Lee will give an honest opinion on whether you need surgery, including non-surgical options if they are appropriate. Booking surgery on the day of consultation is not expected.
How does the £250 consultation relate to the £17,800 hip replacement package?
The £250 consultation is a one-off paid appointment to get specialist advice. If you and Professor Lee agree that private hip replacement is the right step, the £17,800 package covers the surgery itself: pre-operative planning, surgery and an overnight stay at the 5-star Weymouth Street Hospital in London, a private luxury car service for eligible UK patients, local follow-up and unlimited post-op physiotherapy in Grantham or Sleaford.
