Most orthopaedic surgeons avoid direct anterior hip replacement because proficiency demands roughly 100 cases over four or more years; patients treated early in that learning curve face measurably elevated revision risk, whilst posterior approaches deliver equivalent long-term outcomes without that cost.
SPAIRE hemiarthroplasty preserves the posterior tendons and sensory receptors during femoral neck fracture repair, achieving dislocation rates below 1% versus several percent for standard approaches and avoiding restrictive precautions that delay recovery in frail older patients.
